2023 was a great year and we had the chance to create so many fun, gorgeous and delicious cakes, cookies and cupcakes for our clients. We decided to take a look back at some of our favorites. Here's our ten favorite bakes of the year and boy was it tough to choose!
Main squeeze bridal shower cake There's nothing sour about this cake for the bride-to-be celebrating life with her main squeeze. We hand painted lemons in a watercolor style on the sides of this cake and topped it with handcrafted lemons made with cake pop mix and fondant to add another dimension. Underneath all those lemons is more lemon! On the inside, this cake was our Lemon Raspberry Elegance flavor - lemon cake with raspberry buttercream filling.
50th Birthday cake
We just loved the juxtaposition of the light creamy frosting and roses with the gold sprinkles on this gorgeous birthday cake. We achieved the height effect by stacking two 8 inch round cakes on top of each other. One tier was vanilla and the other chocolate to give the birthday guests options. Afterwards our client had this to say: "Thank you for the most gorgeous cake. It turned out even better than the inspiration picture and it was so delicious. Thanks for making the process so easy. 10 out of 10!!!!!!!!"
Fins up shark cookies
Watch out or these shark cookies will bite you back! We were so excited when a friend asked us to make cookies for a Shark Week party. We had such a blast decorating our classic sugar cookies with royal icing for this fin-tastic theme party.
Elegant baby shower cake
Sage and peach are the stars of this delicate and beautiful two tier cake. The ruffles on the bottom tier are one of our favorite frosting techniques we used last year. Classic rosettes, and cute little baby feet topped off this adorable cake perfect for any baby shower.
Succulent cupcakes
We piped our Swiss meringue buttercream into succulent and cactus shapes for these Maximum Chocolate cupcakes. These are undoubtedly our favorite cupcakes of the year and we were thrilled with how they turned out. The best thing about these succulent cupcakes is you don't have to figure out when to water them!
Bride to bee cake
Everyone was buzzing about this bridal shower cake! But we promise these adorable bees don't sting! We used floral wire to help our fondant bees with wings of edible paper fly above this cake decorated with daisies and honeycomb.
Happily ever after bridal shower cookies
We helped another bride-to-be celebrate with these adorable happily ever after Sugar cookies for her bridal shower. The happily ever cookies were decorated with edible paper and were coupled (see what I did there?) with heart shaped cookies with the happy couple's initials and tiny flower accents.
Sage succulents & roses
We made this cake for a confirmation celebration, but this design could lend itself to nearly any occasion. Hand-piped succulents and roses combined with leaves printed on edible paper gave this cake a unique and elegant look. In case you can't tell - we just love combining 2D and 3D elements on our cakes! This cake was our Sparkling Strawberry Champagne flavor which combines a delicate champagne sponge with strawberries baked in and our delicious strawberry Swiss meringue buttercream filling.
Golden engagement cookies
The wedding ring is the ultimate symbol of marriage and made a great cookie shape for these engagement party cookies. A touch of sparkle dust brought the diamond ring cookies to life. We hand painted gold to give an abstract look to the heart shaped cookies, then added the bride and groom's initials with a stencil. These beautiful golden cookies would make an attractive addition to any engagement party, bridal shower or wedding.
Tatreez pattern wedding cake
This gorgeous two-tiered vanilla cake was for a local wedding. We printed a traditional Palestinian tatreez pattern on edible paper to produce the images on the sides of the cake. The gold fondant coins were also a traditional element of the cake. Topped with deep red roses, we just loved how eye catching this cake turned out.
